Steve Wilson, CFA. Steve Wilson founded Lapides Asset Management, LLC (“Lapides”)
and serves as the firm's Chief Investment Officer and as an Analyst/Manager.
Steve has been conducting hands-on, proprietary research and managing
portfolios of smaller cap securities since 1981. Prior to forming Lapides in June 2005, Steve was an
Analyst/Manager at Reich & Tang since 1986.
Additionally, he served as Chief Investment Officer of the Capital
Management Group at Reich & Tang for seven years. Before joining Reich
& Tang, Steve was President of Home Capital Services, the investment
management subsidiary of the Home Insurance Company. Steve has a BS from the Wharton School of the University of
Pennsylvania and an MBA from New York University. He became a Chartered
Financial Analyst in 1984 and is a member of the New York Society of Security
Analysts. Andrey Seryy. Andrey
started as an Intern
in August 2013 and became full-time in January 2014. He currently
serves as a Analyst/Manager in our equity research group. Before
joining Lapides, he was
an intern at UBS Financial Services Inc. Andrey received a BS degree
from Wayne
State University. top Ted Shaw. Ted started
as an Intern in September 2016 and became full-time in June 2017. He
currently works as a Research Analyst in our equity
research
group. Ted graduated from Sacred Heart University in May 2017 with a BS
in
Finance and Business Economics. He has passed Level I of the CFA program. Jim Betz. Jim joined Lapides in July 2006, bringing more than 25 years of
financial services industry experience. As Chief Operating Officer and Chief
Compliance Officer, Jim heads Lapides’ operations, including finance, systems, compliance
and administration. Jim came to Lapides from Nomura Securities International,
where he was Director of Financial and Regulatory Reporting. Jim founded CFO B/D Compliance, a consulting company providing
regulatory, financial, and operational support to firms in the financial
services industry. Prior to starting his consultancy, he was Director of
Operations for the Safra Family Office, Safra National Bank and Safra
Securities Corp. Jim has also held senior financial/administrative positions at
a number of other firms, including Banorte Securities International (Chief
Financial Officer), Valores Finamex International, Inc. (Chief Financial
Officer), Serfin Securities, Inc. (Treasurer & Controller), and Reich &
Tang (Controller).
Jim received a BS degree from St. Francis College and an MBA in Finance from Adelphi University. top Antoinette Francis. Antoinette joined the firm in 2005 and serves as Vice President of Administration / Client Relations. Prior to that, she worked at Reich & Tang as Administrative Assistant to Steve Wilson. She held various roles in advertising and publishing before joining Reich & Tang in 2000. Antoinette graduated Summa Cum Laude with a BS degree from Long Island University - CW Post. top Janice Barbieri, CPA. Janice joined the firm in 2009 and serves as Accountant & Fund Administrator. She joined Lapides with 17 years’ experience in the financial services industry and is a Certified Public Accountant. Prior to joining Lapides, she worked at Tremont Group Holdings, LLC as Senior Fund Accountant, ING Baring Furman Selz LLC and Anchin, Block & Anchin, LLP. Janice holds a BS degree from SUNY Binghamton University. top Leslie Dempsey Evans. Leslie is Director of Operations. Prior to joining Lapides as a full-time employee in 2009, she served as Compliance Officer and Operations Manager at Flavin, Blake & Company in Stamford, CT. Between 1998 and 2004, Leslie served as an Administrative Assistant at Strategic Financial Solutions, Inc. and Evergreen Group, where she began her career. Leslie holds a BA from West Virginia Wesleyan College. top Nick Carpiniello. Nick joined Lapides in October 2015 and currently serves as the firm’s Director of Trading. Prior to joining Lapides, Nick worked as a Research Assistant at Nudge Capital LLC, and prior to that he was an intern at Axiom Capital Management LLC. Nick graduated Summa Cum Laude with a BBA in Finance from Iona College. He has passed Level I of the CFA program. top Anne Selkovits. Anne has been associated with Lapides Asset Management since December 2005. Through her firm, ThunderCap, LLC, she serves as an independent compliance associate to Lapides. Prior to this role, she was Executive Vice President at Flavin, Blake & Company, where her responsibilities included overseeing compliance with SEC regulations as well as monitoring the firm’s ongoing compliance program. Prior to Flavin Blake & Company, Anne was Director of Research at Gray, Seifert & Co. She began her career at Neuberger & Berman in New York City.
